Why do the Receptionists ask why I need an appointment?

All staff at the surgery are bound by a confidentiality contract, so please be assured your information is safe.

The reception team are not just being nosey when they ask why you need to see a doctor or nurse.  The clinical team have asked the receptionists to do this so that they can plan their consulations and have the relevant information/equipment to hand.

During triage the receptionists ask why you need an appointment in order to prioritise their ‘call backs’ and so that we can direct you to the most appropriate person.

Why can’t I read this article completely? No point it being here if I can’t read it fully! Thanks, Carole

There could be a technical issue, although the article is very brief – only 3 lines long.

Can you give some more context? Is this on the web site or in the email newsletter?

      I can then investigate.
